Our lab is built on a foundation of long-standing collaboration—a vibrant hub for research, teaching, and student mentorship. Here, students enjoy close guidance in Hebrew, French, or English; strong research support; and lively, thought-provoking discussions within a dynamic community of peers.
What sets us apart is our unique academic journey. Though we were both trained in the same Department of French Literature and Linguistics at Tel Aviv University, our paths diverged: Silvia became a linguist, while Galia pursued French literature. We share a deep fascination with language as a tool for describing and understanding reality. We are also intrigued by the interplay of text and image—Silvia explores comics, while Galia studies journalistic texts and photobooks.
Over the years, we have co-authored articles, presented at conferences, and mentored research students. Our collaboration led to the creation of a program dedicated to the study of multimodal discourse. Beyond academia, we are committed to making an impact on the community by teaching courses that integrate academic engagement.
And most importantly—we always make time to celebrate along the way!
