MA Program in Environmental Regulation and Policy

students

About the Program

The MA program in Environmental Regulation and Policy — the first of its kind in Israel — is recognized by the Council for Higher Education (CHE) and trains leaders in the fields of environment, regulation, and sustainability policy. The program is run jointly by the Faculty of Law and the Department of Environmental Studies, Planning and Sustainability, and combines law, economics, environmental science, and public policy.

How is it decided which facilities are permitted to operate near residential areas? How is economic development balanced against the protection of public health and the environment? Who determines what counts as acceptable pollution, and how are environmental standards enforced in practice? How should Israel address the implications of the climate crisis, and how should corporations plan their business strategy in light of climate challenges? Environmental regulation and policy sit at the heart of decision-making processes that affect all our quality of life — at home, at work, and in public spaces. The MA program in Environmental Regulation and Policy offers unique interdisciplinary training that combines law, environmental studies, geography, planning, and public policy, preparing students to take part in meaningful, high-impact work in the public, business, and civic arenas.
