Professor Orly Shapira-Lishchinsky is the Head of the Institute for Integration at Bar-Ilan University. Her research focuses on the relationships between perceptions of organizational ethics and teacher retention and teachers’ withdrawal behaviors, such as tardiness, absenteeism, intentions to leave, and actual turnover. As part of her research, Professor Shapira-Lishchinsky investigates the development of ethical codes in international education systems through leadership strategies and simulations among educational staff. Her recent studies compare different education systems worldwide, with an emphasis on leadership and educational policy design.

Professor Shapira-Lishchinsky’s research has been published in leading international academic journals focusing on educational leadership, educational management, and educational policy design. Her work has been funded by various organizations, including the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (European grant) and the Ministry of Education, and she has presented her research at prestigious international conferences. Professor Shapira-Lishchinsky also serves as an evaluator for the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA-IF) research grant program of the European Commission.

Professor Orly Shapira-Lishchinsky has held visiting research appointments at several universities outside Israel, including Harvard University, Michigan State University, and University at Albany in New York.
