"Family TRIP": A Brief Family Intervention for Coping with War-Related Challenges
Family relationships often undergo changes during times of crisis and trauma. Parental reactions and coping mechanisms can significantly influence children’s responses and the overall sense of stability within the home.
The Community Service Clinic, in collaboration with the "Ripples for Recovery" (Advot LeHachlama) initiative, offers a short-term intervention for parents and children: the "Family TRIP" program—a metaphorical family journey designed to strengthen bonds.
Who is it for? The intervention is intended for parents and children (ages 3–15) who are seeking dedicated time for reflection, communication enhancement, and the processing of family experiences. It is suitable for families coping with changes in a family member's emotional state or those wishing to deepen their internal connection.
What does the intervention include? The program is not a physical trip, but rather uses the metaphor of a "Family TRIP" to create a therapeutic space for a shared emotional experience.
During the sessions, we will:
- Map the ways in which family members react to one another.
- Practice supportive communication.
- Process experiences arising from daily life.
- Strengthen the sense of connection and family cooperation.
Duration of Intervention: 4–5 therapeutic sessions, lasting 60–90 minutes each. The first and final sessions are for parents only. The remaining sessions are held with parents and children together.
