Associations between Risk Behaviors and Self-Injury and Suicidal Ideation Among Jewish and Arab Adolescents in Israel: The Role of Gender and Ethnic Group Affiliation
This study is among the first in Israel to apply an intersectional lens to examine how gender and ethnic group affiliation jointly shape the links between a wide range of adolescent risk behaviors and self-injury and suicidal ideation within a stratified sociocultural context. It advances the field by distinguishing passive from active suicidal ideation and by testing their associations with both individual and cumulative risk behaviors across Jewish and Arab boys and girls.
