Violence, Space, Digitalization

Violence in the digital age is changing, and so are the city and its citizens. Zur's research focuses on aspects of violence, intergroup conflict, crime, policing, and care in the urban arena and how these are changing in the wake of the digital revolution. Zur completed her doctorate from the Urban Design Laboratory, Department of Geography and the Human Environment at Tel Aviv University. She holds an MA in Sociology and Anthropology and a BA in Film and Television and Women's and Gender Studies from Tel Aviv University. Before joining the Department of Criminology at Bar-Ilan University, she did a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard University. She was awarded a Fulbright, ISF, and Presidential Scholarship for Outstanding Postdoctoral Fellows at Tel Aviv University. In addition to her academic work, Zur has edited and produced podcast series on urbanism, space and society, prostitution, and restorative justice in sexual assault. Currently, she is developing two key areas of knowledge in the Department of Criminology: violence in the digital age and urban criminology.
