Process-Based Intervention in Schools and on Campus

Brief process-based interventions for counselors and schools

Process-Based Therapy (PBT), developed by Prof. Stefan G. Hofmann and Prof. Steven C. Hayes, shifts intervention from protocol selection to identifying the processes that maintain a problem in context. This orientation fits educational counseling, because difficulties such as dropout risk and academic disengagement can arise from distinct pathways that require different targets. In a pilot study of an app-based imagery rescripting protocol I developed, a single session reduced the perceived probability and cost of future social events. I am working to establish a process-based research clinic at Bar-Ilan University to support at-risk students and to serve as a platform for mechanism-informed intervention research.
