The Jonathan Sacks Institute at Bar-Ilan University is the only academic institute fully dedicated to rigorous scholarly research on the thought, ideas, values, and enduring public concerns of the late Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks.

Why is the Institute part of the Department of Political Studies?

Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks developed a body of thought that is deeply grounded in Jewish religious tradition while also speaking directly to the most pressing contemporary social, political, and moral issues facing Jews and non-Jews alike. For this reason, it was deemed most appropriate to situate the Institute within Bar-Ilan University's Department of Political Studies. The Institute also works closely with Bar-Ilan University’s Department of Jewish Philosophy and its faculty, among others.
