Dr. Benjamin Schvarcz - bio

Benjamin Schvarcz is a lecturer in the Department of Political Studies at Bar-Ilan University. Before joining the department’s faculty, he completed two years of postdoctoral research at Princeton University. He previously earned his M.A. and Ph.D. in the Department of Political Science at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

His research focuses on the history of political thought, with a particular emphasis on Jewish political thought in two contexts: the literature of the Sages (azal) and the modern State of Israel. His articles have appeared in journals such as Politics and Religion, Harvard Theological Review, and Jewish Quarterly Review.
