טראומה, אבל ואובדן

המחקר העכשווי בתחום הטראומה והאובדן עבר מהתמקדות בלעדית בפתולוגיה להבנה רחבה של חוסן, הסתגלות וצמיחה נפשית. ממצאי המחקר מצביעים על כך שחשיפה לטראומה ואובדן אמנם מייצרת פגיעות רבה, אך היא עשויה להוביל גם ל"צמיחה פוסט-טראומטית" – תהליך שבו מתוך השבר מתגבשות תובנות חדשות, חוסן נפשי ותפיסת חיים מעמיקה יותר, בתנאי שמתקיים עיבוד רגשי הולם בסביבה תומכת. 

בקליניקה מתקיימים מחקרים מגוונים אודות תהליכי טראומה, אבל ואובדן. אלה מחוברים באופן הדוק לעשייה הטיפולית בתחום, אשר התעצמה והעמיקה לאחר אירועי ה-7 באוקטובר. לאחרונה אף הושק שיתוף פעולה ייחודי בין המחקר הנערך בקליניקה לבין המרכז החדש למחקר רב-תחומי על טראומה בצל המלחמה, בהובלת פרופ׳ דני חורש. את התחום מובילים לצידו ד"ר גלי הלינגר, ד"ר תמר זילברג, פרופ' אילנית חסון-אוחיון, פרופ' רבקה תובל-משיח, פרופ' יוגב קיוויתי, ובעבר גם פרופ' (אמריטוס) טוביה פרי.
