The lab

Our lab focuses on the dynamic world of living cells, where biological processes are orchestrated by subtle, non-covalent interactions between molecules. Understanding these intricate interactions at a molecular level is essential for unlocking the mysteries of cellular function and targeting specific biological pathways.

Our research focuses on probing even the weakest interactions between proteins—often below micromolar concentrations. We meticulously analyze minor conformational changes and binding adjustments that occur during protein-protein interactions or protein-metal/ligand coordination. To achieve this, we employ advanced techniques including EPR, NMR, CD, and various biochemical assays, combined with computational simulations to bridge gaps in experimental data.

In our lab, every step of the process is conducted in-house, from protein expression and purification to detailed analysis and till the cell and even the mouse stage. Our comprehensive approach allows us to unravel the complexities of the cellular copper cycle in both eukaryotic and prokaryotic systems.
