Emotion Regulation Diversity and its Effectiveness in Daily Life
Emotion regulation diversity encompasses the variety, prevalence, and relative abundance of strategies used for regulating emotion. Surprisingly, depressed and socially anxious individuals exhibit greater emotion regulation diversity, challenging the assumption that diversity is adaptive. In this study, we attempt to understand factors that may explain these complex findings. We explore the association between emotion regulation diversity and recovery from negative mood and assess moderating effects on this association in clinical and healthy samples.
