Why do some people find it difficult to regulate their negative mood? My research suggests that there are important behavioral, cognitive, and physiological processes that underlie maladaptive emotion regulation related to risk for depression. We are interested in further exploring the relationship between these underlying processes.

Shachar Rozalis

Shachar received her B.A in Psychology and Education, and her M.A in Clinical Psychology from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU). She is currently a PhD student at Bar-Ilan University. Shachar is interested in positive emotional regulation, in relation to depressive symptoms.

Adi Moka

+

Adi received her B.A. in Psychology and Education and her M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Bar-Ilan University. She is currently at her first year as a Ph.D. student in the Lab. Adi is interested in expanding the understanding of synchrony between adolescents and their parents across various interactions and examine underlying mechanisms that can influence it.

Or received her B.A. in Psychology and her M.A in Clinical Child Psychology, from the Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya (IDC). She is currently a PhD student at Bar-Ilan University. Or is interested in life threatening behaviors and suicide prevention. In her work, she seeks to evaluate the effectiveness of short-term suicide prevention program for the prevention of suicide behavior among youth.

Yael Scorofitz

+

Yael received her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Haifa. She is currently pursuing her M.A. in the Clinical Psychology program at Bar-Ilan University. Her research interests focus on the concept of synchrony within parent-adolescent dyads and its link to attachment quality.

Michal Slama

Michal received her B.A. in Psychology and Philosophy from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She is currently pursuing her M.A. in the Clinical Psychology program at Bar-Ilan University. Her research interests focus on the concept of emotional clarity.

Tali Mesika

Tali received her B.A. in Psychology and her M.A. in Educational Psychology from the Center of Academic Studies (M.L.A.). She is a licensed educational psychologist and is currently completing a preparatory program for Ph.D. studies at Bar-Ilan University. Her research interests focus on changes in the parent–child relationship following psychological interventions, and on exploring how psychological assessment and diagnosis can also serve as therapeutic tools.

Meitar Yosef

Meitar received her B.A. in Psychology and Education from Tel Aviv University. She is currently pursuing her M.A. in the Clinical Psychology program at Bar-Ilan University. Her research interests focus on the process of emotional recovery that occurs during synchrony between adolescents and their parents.

Asaf received his B.A. from the Hebrew University. He is currently pursuing his M.A. in the Clinical Psychology program at Bar-Ilan University. His research focuses on the impact of trauma on self-perception in community contexts in light of the October 7th attack.

Abigail Shaina Weizmann

Abigail is a third-year B.A. student in Psychology at Bar-Ilan University and is completing pre-medical core courses through the Open University. She plans to pursue the Neuro-Data M.Sc. program at Bar-Ilan University, followed by a research-oriented M.D. track. Her research interests focus on cognitive neuroscience and AI-based early detection of neurological and dementia-related conditions.

Asaf Refael Shimoni

Asaf received his B.Ed. and Teaching Certificate from Orot Israel College and holds a B.A. in Psychology as well as an M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Bar-Ilan University, where he is currently pursuing a Ph.D. His research focuses on the relationship between emotion regulation diversity, emotion differentiation, and their effects on psychopathological symptoms and well-being.

Shahaf Bitan

Shahaf received his BA in Psychology and Sociology from Tel-Aviv University, and his Master's in Clinical-Rehabilitation Psychology from Bar-Ilan University, where he is currently a PhD student. Shahaf is interested in the experience of adult cancer survivors, who despite the social expectations to return to full function with recovery, are still experiencing emotional distress.

Elisa received her B.A. in Psychology and International Relations from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She completed her Master’s degree in the Clinical Psychology Program at Bar Ilan University. Her thesis examined the association between executive cognitive control and emotion regulation in everyday life.

Shlomo received his B.A. in psychology from Tel Aviv University. He is currently a Master's student in the clinical psychology program at Bar Ilan University. His research focuses on emotion differentiation - the ability to identify, distinguish, and label one's emotional experience.
