This paper presents a new project that examines compositional and technical approaches to rethinking the relationships between composer, performer, and listener. The work “Entanglement”, which is at the heart of this article, is a unique musical game-composition that is based on the recording of 4 players who were asked to improvise 3 different short phrases on 48 different graphic notations. The conductor of the work, Maestro Ilan Volkov, was encouraged to find a new range of possibilities for sonic experimentation based on the latest developments in AI-generated 2D visualizations of corpus similarities. He wore a unique ring controller on his hand in order to capture the conducting movements while the hand positions allowed him to play with the different clusters and create unique musical textures based on the same musical notation that was given to the players.
