Nir Qvit is an organic medicinal chemist by training who is interested in rationally designed molecules to modulate protein interactions in a highly specific manner. His projects are focused on interdisciplinary biomedical translational research, specifically towards cardiovascular, neurodegenerative, cancer and neglected diseases.

Liron Davis, Ph.D

Dr. Liron Davis is the lab manager at Qvit Lab and holds a Ph.D. in neuroscience. She has extensive experience in various laboratory techniques, combining scientific expertise with research management. Her role ensures the lab's smooth operation while contributing to peptide-based research on mitochondrial protein regulation and cardiovascular health.

Mulate Zerihun Workeneh

Mulate is a PhD student. His research focuses on the role of protein-protein interactions (PPI) in cardiovascular diseases (CVDs). He is deeply passionate about discovering breakthroughs in science, especially with PPI and peptide drugs against CVDs. Mulate has been accepted into Teva's National BioInnovators Program! This prestigious initiative supports promising researchers in the life sciences.

Mahesh Kumar C S

Mahesh is a PhD student in the lab. He holds a master degree in pharmacy with specialization in pharmacology. He extensively works on cell and animal models. He's also trained well in peptide synthesis, protein expression and other analytical techniques in the lab. His research is focused on modulating the protein protein interactions that are involved in mitophagy using peptides.

Rani Vainer

Rani Vainer is a PhD student  in Qvit's lab. He is a physical therapist and an exercise physiologist and he investigating the physiological effect of aerobic physical activity after ischemia-reperfusion myocardial infarction (MI), and the physiological effects of peptide-based drug therapy after myocardial infarction. Rani's research focuses on the molecular, physiological and functional effect of physical exercise after myocardial infarction in animals and humans.

Sayan Chakraborty

Sayan earned a bachelor's degree in microbiology from the University of Calcutta and a master's degree in biochemistry from West Bengal State University. He is a PhD candidate in the Qvit lab, focusing on peptide design and protein-protein interactions for cardiovascular disease treatment. Beyond research, he finds joy in traveling to new places, trying diverse cuisines and taking photographs

Ayetenew Abita is a Ph.D. candidate in Medical Biosciences at Bar Ilan University, specializing in Protein-Protein Interaction and Peptide Synthesis. Possessing a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry and a Master's in Medical Biochemistry, he passionately navigates the intricate world of molecular interactions, demonstrating a steadfast commitment to advancing knowledge.

Lev Brio, Ph.D

Dr. Lev Brio is a postdoctoral researcher in our lab, specializing in microfluidics and its biomedical applications. He earned his PhD in Prof. Doron Gerber’s lab, focusing on advanced microfluidic systems for biological research. At Qvit Lab, he applies his expertise to engineer innovative solutions for peptide-based mitochondrial protein regulation.
