Dr. Maya Golan

I am a Ph.D student in the lab, under the supervision of Prof. Noa Vilchinsky, and an Intern in clinical psychology in the student counselling center of Bar- Ilan university.
I also have a Ph.D, M.B.A and B.Sc in Industrial Engineering and Management and I am a senior lecturer in Afeka Academic Engineering College.

My current research focuses on the dyadic coping strategies adopted by patients coping with cardiac illness and their spouses, in particular in the context of transplanted devices such as Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD), Implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICD) and Artificial cardiac pacemaker.
My research aim is to combine my knowledge in psychology and engineering, and in particular, human-machine interface, to improve the compatibility of the devices with couples’ emotional and instrumental needs.
