In my capacity as Presidential Advisor for Gender Equity, I am working toward improving the status of women at Bar-Ilan University, and toward substantive change in the gender structure and the gender culture of the university. Together with the Office of the President and the Rector’s Office, I hope to bring about the recruitment of more women researchers to Bar-Ilan University (especially in the STEM fields), the advancement of women scientists to professorial ranks and the appointment of women researchers to senior leadership positions at Bar-Ilan. I also hope to ensure that women students and faculty have full access to the rights they are entitled to, to develop a culture that allows a healthy work-life balance, to provide support and assistance to women PhD students, to prevent discrimination against women and to work toward gender sensitization among administration, faculty and students.
