At the end of October, the Annual Engineering Conference took place at the Dan Accadia Hotel in Herzliya. This yearly event serves as a get-together for professors, researchers, and students from across the Faculty of Engineering. Uniting the many disciplines, from Electrical Engineering to Bioengineering, the conference hosted a series of poster sessions, lectures, and informal discussions designed to create an atmosphere of learning and networking. Over the course of two days of scientific exchange, attendees experienced meaningful social interactions.
The entire OrrLab team was present at the event. Our PI, Dr. Orr Levy, delivered an insightful presentation on the lab’s vision, highlighting how network science can be used to investigate complex biological problems. Additionally, OrrLab Ph.D students Vered Klein and Yongjian He showcased their research during the Poster Session. Vered presented “A Computational Framework for TCR Genotyping and Allele Discovery”, while Yongjian shared his work on “Predicting Cell-Specific Gene Expression Profile and Knockout Impact Through Deep Learning.”, highlighting the lab’s commitment to cutting-edge research.
The conference served as a reminder of how science thrives when people come together, build collaborations, and inspire one another. Being surrounded by such a diverse scientific community strengthened our motivation to push the boundaries of research.
