Multilingualism and Autism

Professor Natalia Meir’s research focuses on naturalistic and non-interactive multilingualism in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), investigating their unique language abilities. The research focuses  how individual differences in input characteristics, cognitive factors and socio-emotional-motivational factors collectively shape multilingual language acquisition as part of one complex and dynamic system in children with ASD. This research aims to inform the development of tailored assessment tools and intervention strategies for multilingual children with ASD, bridging the gap between theoretical understanding and practical application.
