Prof. Motti Neiger is a leading scholar in Journalism Studies and Political Communication, with particular expertise in media memory, conflict coverage, and the evolving norms of journalistic practice. His research explores how journalism structures collective experiences of time—past, present, and future—and how media serves as both a platform and a participant in shaping public memory, especially in contexts of national trauma and conflict. He has published extensively on media representations of war, nationalism, and criticism in Israeli society, and is widely recognized for his work on journalistic ethics, professional identity, and the personalization of journalism in the digital age. Prof. Neiger’s scholarship has appeared in top-tier journals including Journal of Communication, Communication Research, Journalism, and Media, Culture & Society. Beyond academia, he plays an active role in public service, including curriculum development for media education in Israel and contributions to national ethics committees. His interdisciplinary work bridges cultural theory, communication studies, and critical media analysis, offering timely insights into the challenges facing journalism in an era of political polarization and technological transformation.
