When it comes to actual ability as a wizard, a case can certainly be made that Draco Malfoy is more talented than Harry. The only thing that Potter beats Draco at is his flying ability on a broomstick, but even then Draco pushes him all the way.

Harry and Draco were pretty much neck-and-neck when it comes to dueling and wand-related stuff. It was only until Harry got a hold of Snape's diary and channeled his Slytherin tendencies that he was able to win against Malfoy. As a result, he nearly killed Malfoy in The Half-Blood Prince.

 In their grade, Hermione was (of course) was the first, and in the second place is Draco, while harry is only the 8th.

In concludion, both Harry and Draco suffer from tons of trauma. if draco did not suffer from daddy issuse- he would win, with out a doubt.
