The LGBTQ Research Community within the Israeli Sociological Society was established in 2018 by Dr. Gilly Hartal and Dr. Adi Moreno, with the goal of creating an academic home for researchers in the social sciences who focus on sexuality, LGBT-queer, and queer studies. Together with many colleagues and partners, the community works to address the lack of representation in the field and to present and explore issues related to the LGBT-queer community within social science contexts.

In addition, as part of the community’s activities, a research group focusing on queer methodology meets once a month.
