Cytosolic ascorbate peroxidases (APXs) are important regulators of cellular hydrogen peroxide levels and redox homeostasis. We investigate the regulation and biological functions of cytosolic APXs to understand how individual APX isoforms contribute to plant responses to environmental and developmental signals. We are particularly interested in uncovering functions of these enzymes that extend beyond their classical role in ROS detoxification and in defining their connections to broader cellular and metabolic pathways.
