Ph.D Students

Sreejith Balachandran
Sreejith is a PhD candidate at the Graduate School of Business, BIU. His research on “A Cultural Framework for Volunteer First Responder Systems,” examines how cultural dimensions - such as power distance, uncertainty avoidance, and time orientation - influence responder engagement across different cultural contexts. The outcomes of his research will directly inform and extend the cultural insights gained from the NIH-sponsored UnityPhilly study. In particular, his findings will support a deeper understanding of cultural influences on opioid overdose emergency response, contributing to the design of the app and the implementation of an effective, culturally responsive operational model

Cherry Jiang Frenkel
Cherry is a PhD candidate at the Graduate School of Business, BIU. Her research centers on the intersection of healthcare data analytics and network science, focusing on the diffusion of mobile health (mHealth) innovations. Her current study leverages Social Network Analysis (SNA) to model how mHealth applications spread within healthcare networks, identifying influential actors and structural pathways that facilitate or inhibit the diffusion process. Her work integrates machine-learning simulation, stakeholder mapping, and the analysis of relational and behavioral health data to inform practical and actionable dissemination strategies that enhance the reach and adoption of digital health.
