Religion is a multidisciplinary field within the humanities and social sciences that investigates the various aspects of religious phenomena as they manifest in individuals, society, and history. This research aims to identify the commonalities and differences between different religions as they are expressed across historical, geographical, ethnic, ideological, and experiential dimensions.
Research tools in Religious Studies belong to various disciplines such as philosophy of religion, philosophy of language, history of religions, psychology, anthropology, folklore studies, and more.
At Bar-Ilan University's Religious Studies Forum, we focus on an interdisciplinary approach that examines various topics in the study of religions and develops interfaith dialogue and research. This is based on innovative methodology in religious studies while promoting research and study programs in collaboration with researchers from Israel and abroad. The uniqueness of the Forum for the Study of Religion lies in positioning Judaism as the central point for comparative research and interfaith dialogue.
