Intergenerational Transmission of Trauma

Our research explores how parental experiences of trauma can echo across generations, influencing the emotional and social development of their children. We focus on the complex pathways through which past adversity shapes current caregiving and the parent-infant bond. By integrating behavioral observations with physiological markers, we aim to understand both the risk factors and the mechanisms of resilience. Our goal is to identify ways to break the cycle of maltreatment and support the cultivation of secure, healing relationships within the family.
