I received my BSc, MSc and PhD from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and got post-doctoral training at Stanford University. I am in love with cyanobacteria since my early days as a junior research student, and when not in the lab, I enjoy music, both listening and playing, nature walks, skiing and cooking.

At age four, I knew I'd be a biologist and have never regretted it. At age six, I dreamed of studying ethology, but life led me to research bacterial behavior, equally mysterious. I teach students to work productively and joyfully, aiming for beauty and satisfaction in their endeavors. At home, I fulfill my childhood dreams by observing my cats' behavior; one even accompanies me to work.

I moved from Moscow a couple of years ago. There I studied Biotechnology at Moscow State University. Here I switched to Microbiology a bit. I am a responsible student but hate to come to the lab early. I like silence but take music as one of the best things in the existence. And dogs. Dogs are the best (don’t tell Ella – she prefers cats). Sarcasm, curiosity and melancholy are my main qualities.

I'm a biologist who can spend hours investigating the mysteries of life—whether it's the behavior of cells or the best moisturizer for my skin. When I'm not charming the world with my delightful presence, you’ll find me deeply fascinated by religions or in deep sleep (because beauty rest is science, too). Basically, I’m a mix of Sherlock Holmes, a skincare guru, and a very sleepy philosopher!

Born and raised in Jerusalem, I love my city. I have always been passionate about science, especially biology. I graduated from Bar-Ilan University with a bachelor's degree in biotechnology. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, especially my baby girl, as well as with my friends. On Saturdays between meals, I like reading books, playing chess, and enjoying board games.
