Dr. Ori Katz

Bar Ilan University - Law Faculty

I have been an assistant professor at the faculty since 2023. My primary research interests include contract law, empirical legal studies, behavioral law and economics, and judicial decision-making. My work explores the intersection of law and psychology, employing theoretical, observational, and experimental methodologies. At the faculty, I teach Contract Law and Legal Research Methods. I earned my LL.B. in Law and Psychology (summa cum laude) from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 2014. Following my studies, I clerked for Justice Hanan Melcer at the Supreme Court of Israel. In 2020, I completed a direct-track Ph.D. at the Hebrew University. I also hold rabbinical ordination from the Chief Rabbinate of Israel. As a visiting researcher at Harvard Law School, I was honored to receive scholarships from both the Fulbright and Rothschild foundations.
