Our Mission: To bring Jewish thought to bear on the dilemmas raised by artificial intelligence.
The Center for AI Ethics and Jewish Thought advances research, education, policy engagement, and public discourse on the ethical challenges of artificial intelligence through the lens of Jewish moral reasoning.
Rather than offering “Jewish answers for Jews,” the Center brings a moral tradition refined across thirty centuries of human experience into conversation with the technologies and institutions shaping our shared future.
The questions before us
With each passing day, AI raises increasingly difficult questions – not only about how we design, develop, and deploy new technologies, but about who we are as human beings and what kind of world we wish to create. To confront these questions, we draw on the rich ethical and philosophical resources of the Jewish tradition. This tradition has wrestled with fundamental questions of human identity, responsibility, and purpose since its beginnings.
